Your Role At MediaLab
At Medialab, the Data Team is responsible for making data available throughout the organization. As a data analyst, you will work closely with business users to understand business drivers and find actionable insights that can be used to improve efficiencies and outcomes. You will use your deep understanding of the programmatic ad business to inform your investigations within a vast dataset that encompasses all of the medialab properties, with a specific focus to identify and interpret trends related to core advertising metrics like ad requests, ad fill rate, viewability, eCPM, etc. Reporting to the director of data management, you will partner with data engineering and business intelligence, as well as with your customers.What You'll DoPerforming deep-dive analyses to answer complex business questionsDraw meaningful conclusions and make recommendations based on data analysis to test hypotheses that drive incremental revenue for MediaLab’s Assembly ExchangeUtilize strong SQL and Excel skills to manipulate and analyze dataDevelop a deep expertise in Medialab’s ad stack, becoming a subject matter expert who is a resource across the organization for questions about data sourcesExtract, load and transform data from multiple sources for global business reportingCollaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including product managers, engineers, and business leaders, to gather requirements, prioritize projects, and deliver actionable insights.Drive decision making through data insights, quantitative analysis, and A/B testingWhat We're Looking For1-2 years of industry experience in Ad Tech and understanding of the programmatic advertising ecosystem, with the ability to concretely explain Ad Tech concepts like openRTB, DSPs, and SSPs.Comfort with common statistical models (regression, clustering, correlation) and proven experience with python or RExperience proactively researching open-ended questions and finding insightsExpertise in visualization and using data insights to make recommendations and achieve goalsProven ability to manage and deliver on multiple projects with great attention to detailAbility to clearly operate autonomously with ambiguous datasets to uncover potential trends, identify opportunities to test hypotheses, communicate results and drive impact.Strongly skilled at manipulating and integrating data from a variety of sourcesProficiency with test design, model development and documentationReal world examples applying deep dive analysis / root cause analysis to drive KPI impactHands on experience with analytical coding in R or Python in the social, mobile gaming and / or technology industry Master's Degree or PhD in a quantitative field is an added bonusAt MediaLab, we rely on a range of backgrounds, experiences, and ideas.
