Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Educator - PRN

Serve as primary EMS educator for the Northwest Ohio EMS Consortium (NWOEMS-C) and the Mercy Health EMS Division, utilizing cutting edge simulation equipment on-site and in the mobile simulation vehicle.  Opportunity to work outside the clinical environment and travel to EMS Agencies to provide on-site simulation, continuing education, and credentialing. 

Essential Functions

Focus on external agencies, contracted education and simulation

Operate, clean, and maintain all simulation equipment and supplies

Develop educational material and clinical scenarios as required

Schedule, coordinate, and travel to all EMSD training events

Conduct training at hospitals and on-site at EMS agencies

Complete EVOC course and maintain NREMT-P, ACLS instructor, PALS instructor, and EMS instructor certifications

Complete simulator-specific training – may require travel for off-site courses

Work with V’s simulation center and Lifestar/LifeFlight EMS educators

Employment Qualifications

Required Minimum Education: Vocational/Technical Degree - Paramedic

Preferred Education: 2 Year/ Associates Degree

Licensure/Certification Required: Paramedic

Minimum Qualifications

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Required: Active ACLS, PALS and CPR instructor. EMS Instructor required within 2 months of hire

Other Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Preferred: PHTLS Instructor, Clean driving record
