Overview of job

As a Multimedia Technician Advanced – MMTA working in safety critical environments across the TfL estate, which includes London Underground, London Overground, TfL Rail, DLR, and Croydon Tram, you would be part of a diverse, multi-talented team responsible for the posting of classic campaigns across the TfL estate, ensuring we effectively achieve timely placement of our Clients’ campaigns, safely and to the correct place whist attaining performance, quality and safety standards. In this role MMTA’s also assume protecting workers on track (PWT-EH, SPC and PICOW) duties during engineering hours.

As an MMTA you are in a position whereby you can influence, develop and drive operational performance within a team which safely showcases our Clients’ campaigns, in the correct place and delivered on time.

Measures of success –  In the first few months, you would have

Gained the certifications and accreditations required to undertake your role and responsibilities in all environments across the TfL estate during passenger and engineering hours

Gained the certifications and accreditations required to undertake the duties and responsibilities of a PWT-EH, SPC and PICOW

Unconditionally understand of all the safety requirements relevant to your role and responsibilities and be confident, competent of working under approved SSOW and RAMS

Completed training and gained experience on the approved application processes for all formats; large and small format, dry posting and wet posting

Completed training and experienced campaign application across the TfL estate which includes London Underground, London Overground, TfL Rail, DLR, and Croydon Tram

Completed operational and safety training and be proficient in using operational tools, equipment and applications relevant to your role and responsibilities

Responsibilities of the role

Maximise own productivity and performance ensuring campaign presentation is of the highest quality, in the correct place and delivered on time

Carry out Protection Workers On The Track (PWT), Site Person in Charge (SPC) or Person in Charge of Works (PICOW) duties and responsibilities when required and requested

When carrying out Protection Workers On The Track (PWT), Site Person in Charge (SPC) or Person in Charge of Works (PICOW) duties and responsibilities maximise your team’s productivity and performance ensuring campaign presentation is of the highest quality, in the correct place and delivered on time

Carry out works in accordance with Sentinel scheme rules, approved SSOW, RAMS and safety regulations and guidance 

Undertake additional tasks as reasonably required such as classic maintenance works, audits, inspections, skills sharing and ambiance duties

Be trained and compliant with the appropriate use of operational tools, working equipment including fleet vehicles

Always use relevant, appropriate PPE and workwear

Ensure correct, consistent and timely use of electronic devices, including reporting on posting confirmations, exceptions and fault management

Ensure timely attendance to toolbox meetings, training courses, compliance testing and business updates when required or requested including when activities cannot be organised during normal working hours

Ensure all aspects of operational documentation is always correct, maintained and accessible

Adhere to and comply with internal and external processes and procedures for managing and reporting incidents, near misses, unsafe acts or conditions

Adhere to and comply with HSEQ policies and all other company policies applicable to the effective discharge of your role and duties

Ensure your operational training, competency, and compliance arrangements always comply with our contractual training, competency and compliance obligations

Adhere to and follow recognised processes and procedures for reporting faults, incidents, posting exceptions, posting errors and damage to company assets and/or Clients campaigns in a timely fashion

Respect and maintain professional working relationships with peers, internal stakeholders and operational teams; Client Partner and Client representatives and authorities, third party partners and the public

Take responsibility for ensuring you are fit for work and comply with fatigue management and timekeeping policies

What’s needed from you

Able to be calm under pressure and comfortable working to tight timescales whilst operating in safety critical environments

Comfortable and confident with being part of, working with and when carry out Protection Workers On The Track (PWT), Site Person in Charge (SPC) or Person in Charge of Works (PICOW) duties, supporting high-performing teams

Have confidence in working and communicating with a broad range of people with different skill sets and disciplines – both internally and externally. always with a cheerful disposition

A highly flexible approach, with the ability to multitask and prioritise tasks

Somebody with a ‘get the job done’ attitude whilst taking pride in their work, has excellent attention to detail and is accurate

Be articulate with outstanding verbal and written communication skills and be able to confidently use digital workplace tools to solve problems, be productive, connect and collaborate with others

Be approachable and able to foster high levels of engagement whilst being understanding and respectful of individual and team priorities and needs

Have excellent time management, is reliable and flexible

Previous experience working in a safety critical environment desirable

Knowledge of the Outdoor Industry is an advantage, but not essential

Hold a full driving licence, essential

Be able to and comfortable with manoeuvring 20kgs regularly is essential\\

Be able to be and comfortable with being on feet for periods of 2-3 hours is essential

Be comfortable with working at height is essential
