What you will do 

As a Pre-Sales Technical Engineer at Scania Australia, you will provide technical support and expertise to Scania Sales Staff, customers, suppliers, and various industry bodies. Your role will be pivotal in ensuring a smooth sales process and ensuring our products meet the highest performance and compliance standards.

Solution Consulting - Provide detailed technical consulting throughout the sales cycle to both internal and external customers, ensuring solutions meet commercial requirements and adhere to design compliance standards
Technical Assessments - Conduct thorough technical assessments for new vehicle introductions and propose design improvements to enhance product functionality and customer satisfaction
Vehicle Specification Review - Examine vehicle specifications to ensure correct application for various operational needs that meet customer expectations and performance criteria
Compliance Assurance - Oversee local modifications to delivered products to ensure they are approved and conform to industry standards and regulations
Vehicle Homologation - Ensure imported vehicles comply with local type-approval requirements. Working with the Department of Infrastructure to provide information to import heavy vehicles into Australia

Skills and Qualifications

A bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a trade qualified heavy vehicle technician is preferred (Recent graduate in a similar degree will be considered) Technical background in the heavy vehicle industry Proven ability to provide clear, effective technical advice and support Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on customer satisfaction Experience in conducting technical training and assessments Knowledge of industry standards and compliance requirements Strong verbal and written communicator with excellent interpersonal skills Understanding of Heavy Vehicle industry legal frameworks and compliance requirements Strong computer skills, MS Office Suite, CAD, SolidWorks, Catia, Draft site and 3D experience. Self-motivated learner Excellent Team Player
