PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

 

This role is part of the Business Area Controlling (BAC) Sales North America team supporting a NA Line of Business(es). Key responsibilities include business partnering with Sales leadership, managing financial forecasts, monitoring performance, financial close, driving process improvement initiatives and annual budgets. As the Trusted Business Partner to the LoB(s) team, this person bears primary responsibility for overseeing all aspects of financial performance for the business.  This position also works closely with local and global colleagues in achieving controlling initiatives, including ensuring accuracy and integrity of Top Line and P&L figures. 

Position Duties and Responsibilities

 

Business Partner to the LoB(s) leadership team. Main line of business supported is Intelligent Spend and Business Network (ISBN).  ISBN is a large and strategic solution area for SAP Proactively lead financial activities such as forecasting, reporting, analysis and financial close to ensure optimal financial performance Prepare and present financial information to provide insight and foresight for senior management toward their business goals Support business transformation and change initiatives to achieve financial targets, identify risks and opportunities Responsible for ensuring the P&L and KPI’s accurately reflects the financial performance of the organization Work closely with local MU / LoB controllers, other finance and global teams to achieve initiatives including alignment on bookings, revenue, expense and key KPI figures Identify areas of focus to improve operating and financial results (i.e. Productivity, profitability, DSO, Customer Satisfaction, bookings, renewals, revenues, expenses). Work closely with Operations, HR, Compensation, Cloud Bookings and Renewal COE’s to identify operational efficiencies to drive business support, business strategy, GTM, forecasting, budgets and overall partnering with the Sales leadership team. Responsible for month end and quarter end closing processes related to field controlling while working closely with the responsible finance members.  Ensure overall accuracy, integrity and timeliness of financial results. Support and / or lead projects to increase efficiency and simplify processes in BAC Sales and overall Controlling Ensure transparency and compliance with financial guidelines Actively apply agile working methods & foster agile mindset Ad Hoc financial projects and analysis for different stakeholders – Sales leadership team, BAC Sales (both Regional and Global), Specialized Controlling, Regional CFO. In addition to supporting a LoB area, this role will be involved in the North America Cloud booking validation process.   This role, in partnership with Cloud Bookings & Renewals CoE and other BAC Sales Controllers, will ensure the accuracy and timelines of the Cloud Bookings are Renewals process for an assigned area.

 

Education and Qualifications / Skills and Competencies

 

Bachelor and/or Masters University degree Finance/ Accounting.   MBA / CPA a plus   Speak / Write English fluently Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills Strong team player Comfortable in collaborating across all levels of organizations and with senior leaders Excellent interpersonal and communication skills Strong financial acumen Good time management skills and able to work with multiple deadlines Attention to detail, ability to spot trends and focus in on what is important Excellent knowledge of Excel.  Strong understanding of SAP IT systems and applications (BW, ERP, Analytics for Office, SAC) Proven record of excellent performance.  Comfort with working in both a team and independently Good time management with ability to work under stress and time pressure

Work Experience

Minimum 5-8 years of work experience in Finance/Accounting or Controlling function Proven ability to drive business transformation and execution against ambitious milestones
