Shift Operations Manager

Job Description:

As Mars Petcare grows, so do our opportunities. We are seeking a strong leader for our Shift Operations Manager to lead and develop our Production Operators. This role will see you responsible for developing and managing both people & production on rotating shifts.

As the Shift Operations Manager, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth operation of our production processes. This opportunity goes beyond Team Leading, it will also have you involved in the exciting new Projects across the Wodonga site, where you will be part of the Commissioning, Validation and Start Up activities. As the Shift Operations Manager you will actively engage in defining, implementing, improving and standardising how our Production Operators conduct themselves.

What will be your key responsibilities?Lead, develop & mentor direct reports to achieve and exceed production targets whilst maintaining safety and quality standardsMeeting production demands and working in a dynamic environment to minimise any delaysCommunicating in with the leaders regarding production time, budget expectations, materials, delays or concerns, shift managementPrioritising and managing tasks within the designated area to ensure the plant starts on time and learning curves are being metDeveloping and implementing continuous improvement activities that address safety, quality and efficiencyPlanning, directing and coordinating team members during dry & wet commissioning and product/process validation, to meet established specifications, schedules, volume/cost/wastage targets and quality standardsDevelop plans & production schedules, allocating labor/capital resourcesLiaising with the Project & Site Engineering team, R&D, Supply & Logistics and Sales
