About this opportunity:
Join us at Ericsson as a valued member of our global team for the role of Support Engineer. Here, your primary responsibility will encompass the management, tracking, and execution of both proactive and reactive maintenance tasks that necessitate a more sophisticated level of support. Moreover, you will be a crucial participant in implementing change requests in a timely and accurate manner, consistently focusing on the allocation, setup, activation, and testing of specific resources or services.
What you will do:
• Ensuring database availability and performance consistent with required SLAs.
• Daily Oracle Database administration across all Oracle environments.
• Install, configure and administer production and non-production Oracle databases.
• Monitor database systems for general health and performance issues and proactively address issues.
• Configure and monitor Oracle backup jobs.
• Perform database ad-hoc backups and recovery
• Create and maintain documentation as it relates to database processes and procedures.
• Install Oracle database software patches.
• Write Shell scripts to automate routine tasks.
• Basic development using PL/SQL.
• Perform incident diagnoses, corrective actions and root cause and analysis.
• RDMS & DataGuard administration.
• Oracle and SQL Database Tuning – Optimize database performance by analyzing objects, generating statistics and creating indexes.
• Collaborate closely with development teams to optimize their use of database platforms and continuously improve the applications and services
• Database Security and Auditing – Creating Oracle users and assigning security privileges and setup auditing.
The skills you bring:
• 4+ years hands-on experience with Oracle databases on Linux/UNIX Platforms.
• Oracle 11g -19c Database Internals and Administration.
• 2+ years Linux/UNIX Basic Administration.
• 2+ years MySQL.
• Automation scripting (UNIX, PowerShell).
• Oracle Advanced Features Such As
• Multitenant
• Data Guard
• RMAN (backup/data recovery)
• Oracle Advanced Compression
• Oracle Advanced Security Transparent Data Encryption (TDE).
• Production support, resolution of complex operational issues, and performance issues in OLTP and Data Warehouse environments
• Capacity planning and resource usage analysis
• Oracle DB Monitoring on Grafana: monitoring, alerting, job scheduling, etc
